Halloween Weekend!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween weekend. Halloween weekend is somewhat of a big deal in our household. It marks the beginning of desert season!!! For the past few weeks, the hubby has been getting everything together for this weekend.......fixing the desert truck, tuning up his dirt bike and my quad, getting the motor home all squared away and ready for the trip. It's a lot of work, but always worth it.

Thursday night after work I went grocery shopping and finished grabbing a few things for the motor home. For breakfasts I got breakfast burrito stuff, lunch consisted of ham sandwiches, and dinners....well, we get a little fancier for dinner! Cheeseburgers, tri-tip, and bacon-wrapped filets! Yummmmm!!!!!! I also picked up some munchies and beer, of course! ;)

Friday afternoon, after I put in a few hours at the day job, I came home, finished loading up the motor home, and off we went, doggies and all!!!! :D
Captain of the ship! Good thing Billy knows how to drive so us humans could sleep! ;)

Zoey is ready to get out of town!

It took us about 4 hours to get to Glamis and we didn't quite make it before the sun set, like Davey had wanted to, but none-the-less, we had finally made it!!!! We ended up being the first of our friends to get there, so we were searching for our camp spot when all-of-a-sudden we got stuck!!! Yup, stuck in the sand. There was nothing we could do at that point except wait for our friends to show up to help us out of the hole!

Zoey waiting patiently to be saved! LOL!

Our good buddy, Pat, came to the rescue and got us out! Thanks Pat! Then off we went to the camp spot. Once we got there, we unloaded the truck and my quad and then decided to hang out and relax the rest of the evening.

Davey! <3

Biffy

One of our fellow campers had some music going and lights on his trailer. It was pretty cool!!!

Ryan likes to get crazy with the fire and do fire walks over logs......it's just his thing....don't ask! LOL!

The next morning we all went out for a ride. Dave and I went in the truck and Ryan and Timmy rode their bikes. Biffy and his buddy went out in Biff's truck. We headed off to Oldsmobile Hill (or Olds as we all call it). On the way we had to stop to wait for Biffy, so I snapped a couple pictures!

The sand dunes are so beautiful and I love the bright blue sky! We finally made it to the hill and hung out for a little while.

After being at the hill for awhile, we decided to head back to camp.

We stopped to watch some people jump this one dune. We tried to get Ryan to do it, but he didn't.....

We made it back to camp just in time to see the sun set.

We were camped on a canal and I love the reflection off the water!

The colors are all so pretty!

 Moon!!!

Ryan then built us a fire

and we started making dinner. Davey and I had tri-tip that night. It was yummy like always! Everyone started drinking and having a great time....especially Ryan......LOL!

 Gettin' lovin' from Zoey

 Zoey with her Uncle Ryry

 Ryan with his dog, Ollie!

He sure does have some weird love for the dogs!!! ;)

Anyway, back to our night. I had a couple margaritas and everyone else was drinking beer. There is always a fight over Coors Light and Bud Light. Dave refuses to drink Coors and Ryan refuses to drink Bud.....so better hope neither of them run out.......
Now, if you can't decide what to drink, just double fist it!!!! ;)

After dinner we all hung out and took it easy.
Everyone was getting a little sleepy.....even Davey and Zoey. So off to bed we went.

The next morning I woke up and caught Ryan with 2 girls in his bed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told you he had some kind of weird love for doggies!!! ;) Good ol' Ryry!!!!

We had breakfast and geared up to go for a ride!

Davey riding off on his bike......and NO! I am NOT for sale........sorry!!!!

Me on my quad! <3

Billy was holding Ryan's boot hostage.....I guess he didn't want us to leave! :(

After our ride we came back and rehydrated since it was scorching out! We had lunch and chilled for awhile in the shade.

Ryan found a nice little spot in the shade from the truck....

Later that evening, Davey and I took the truck out, just the 2 of us, and headed back to Olds. He wanted to see how well it did climbing that hill without the crowd (it was Sunday evening and 95% of people leave Sunday morning, so we knew it was going to be dead at the hill). The truck made it really well and we had fun, trying different ways up and down the hill. We then sat there and watched others go up. While sitting there, Dave decided to take some pictures of our truck!

We then headed back to camp and again, the sun was setting so beautifully!

Once back, we made our bacon-wrapped filets and enjoyed our dinner. The boys then loaded everything up to be ready to head home in the morning.
Ryan wanted to know what a weekend at the desert smelled like.......yucky! LOL!

Since we were all very tired, we went to bed fairly early. We got up the next morning and finished getting things together. While Dave was tying stuff down, I went up on the hill by our camp to get some more pictures!!!

I just had to try out my panoramic feature on my camera! :D

We then all said good-bye and each of us headed home. It was a long, tiring drive.

Even the doggies were tired!

Scrappy has to be co-pilot all the time!!!! <3

This weekend was such a blast. We handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters and then headed to bed. At least we are starting the week off on a Tuesday, so it shouldn't be too bad!!!! :)

Hope your Halloween weekend was as enjoyable as ours was!

Have a great week!
<3 Amy
