Pumpkin Pie Iced Tea

So it is September 1st!!!! Woo hoo! I love summer, but Fall is my favorite season (mostly due to all the delicious baking that comes with this time of year). I know we still have a few weeks until Fall "officially" arrives, but the first day of September just marks the fact that we are inching closer! I cannot wait to start my Fall baking, and have already started to stock up on pumpkin puree so I don't have to worry about any shortages in the stores. The smells of pumpkin and cinnamon, apples and caramel......oh so intoxicating. I cheated and lit some of my Fall scented candles over the weekend......mmmmmmm!!!!! LOOOOVE! This made me really want something spicy, and since I didn't want to start my Fall goodies off yet, I decided to make something a little more simple.

As you know, I have been "calorie conscience" for over the past year. I have given up on sodas and juice drinks (since they contain sooooooo much sugar), and I DO NOT like to use artificial sweeteners in my drinks. Because of that, I have a liquid intake of pretty much 2 simple things......water and iced tea (sans the sugar, of course). While making tea the other day I decided to play around and add some cinnamon to the boiling water right before I added my tea bag. The tea came out so yummy with that extra little flavorful spice. A lightbulb then went off in my head!!!!! Why not add something even MORE delicious than just cinnamon alone...????? And brilliant idea was to come into play!!!!

1 large Lipton tea bag (or 2 small ones)
Pot of water
1 TBSP Pumpkin Pie spice

Don't get overwhelmed now by the mad amounts of ingredients is still pretty simple to make! ;)

-Fill pot with water and set on stove on high heat
-Allow water to boil
-Once water is boiling, add in pumpkin pie spice; remove from heat
-Dip tea bag in water and dip in and out about 10 times, then let sit in water
-Let pot sit for 1 hour; pour into container and chill

You can add as much or as little spice as you want to the water. I just poured it in, but am guesstimating it was about 1 TBSP. Play around and see what you like.....but for me, the more the better!!!!

Hope you all have a fantastic Thursday. This marks the end of the week for me!!! :D Cannot wait for my long (and much needed) weekend!!!!!
